The Bounce Back: Have a Pity Party!

From now until December I’m focusing on “The Bounce Back”. The how to get it back after life happens. The most important step in bouncing back is to know what you need to bounce back from. Duh right?! Not so fast. How many times throughout the day do I see memes on how you gotta hold it all together AND keep everything in?? Too damn  many! Like, “I really wanna cry but I got stuff to do.” So you’re telling me, I gotta go to work and can’t show that I’m hurting? I gotta raise these kids and hide from them that sometimes mama ain’t got it all together?! Are you kidding me? Who the hell made up these rules? I’ll tell you now if that’s what you believe this post is not  for you…so you can stop reading now.

Most times the healing, restoration and clarity come from the breakdown, the “why me”, and the pity party. So, my first thing  for you to do is to HAVE A PITY PARTY! As a matter of fact walk through that bih singing “It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to!” You CAN have the pity party you just CAN’T STAY there!

As kids we’re taught about all these different emotions and that its ok to be angry, hurt, sad and confused but then when we reach adulthood expressing those same exact feelings is seen as acting CHILDISH! (Insert a whole bunch of cuss words here!) Besides wanting to cuss but what a total mass of confusion! What am I suppose to do with all these mixed and messed up feelings and emotions I have going on?! Hence, my advice, have the damn party! Because in reality if you really and truly wanna bounce back and deal with some stuff and not just get over it but deeeaaallll with it, you’re probably gonna end up crying and there ain’t a damn thing wrong with that!

What do you need to bounce back from before this year is out? A break up, bad financial decisions, bad life decisions, hell you may just need to bounce back from yourself! From now til December that’s our focus – bouncing back. Every week we’ll talk about a different area and how to make some better decisions going forward to propel us into 2018. And what do you know its not too late to end ’17 on the good foot! There you have it…a week to figure out what it is and then we’ll start talking about how we can all bounce back.
